Parent Involvement

Parents and children are very welcome to visit to have a look around and see us in action , we feel it is important for your child to get to know us prior to your child commencing nursery and parents are welcome to stay for the settling in period.

Lunch Times/ Dinners

School dinners are available to all children on a daily basis at the cost of £2.60 a day.

If your child is bringing a packed lunch, please make sure it is in a clearly named box/bag. Food will not be refrigerated but will be stored in a cool place. No glass bottles or food to be reheated.

*Government guidelines recommend an insulated lunch box/bag*

We offer Breakfast between 8am-8.45am which is cereal/toast/crumpets.

We offer a light tea which may include beans on toast, sandwiches, waffles for example followed by youghurt/fruit/rice pudding for example at 4-4.45pm.

Snack Time

*We promote healthy eating at Farington Nursery*

We offer apples, carrots, breadsticks, cheese, crackers and milk or water at each session. Unless you request otherwise. Other fruits/vegetables and toast are offered at various times. Drinking water is available at all times

We run a rolling snack time in which children can access snack when they wish too, they are encouraged to be independent by washing their hands, pouring their own drinks and helping themselves to the food they would like under supervision at all times.

Clothing

It is our aim to encourage all children to become independent when using the toilet etc. Please help us to help your child by dressing him or her in clothes that are easy for them to fasten and unfasten.

Also whilst we do take care to ensure aprons are worn during messy play sometimes children’s clothes do get marked by paint or glue. We do stress that you dress your child appropriately for nursery activities.

Please provide suitable outdoor clothing for your child i.e. waterproof and suitable shoes/wellingtons as we will be outside for longer periods of time in all weathers. Farington Nursery accepts no responsibility for damage to clothing and footwear.

We now have sweatshirts, polo shirts and bags available with our logo on for you to purchase for your child to wear in nursery. This is not compulsory.

Please name all items of clothing including coats, hats etc and bags/lunch boxes as many children can have the same item resulting in mix ups! Thank you.
